Teen Krewe of Aurora was organized in 1996 by the parents of the Majestic Krewe of Aurora and Mardi Gras Southeast Texas with one thought in mind… If the carnival celebration held in downtown Port Arthur was to be a “Family Affair” we needed and wanted to include the teens of southeast Texas in the festivities.

Valero Port Arthur Refinery graciously signed on as the First Official Sponsor of the Teen Krewe in 1996 and are still with the Teens today. Shortly thereafter other sponsors came on board to support the teen as friends of Mardi Gras allowing the Teen Krewe of Aurora to grow and expand.

Membership is open to all teens between the ages of 13 – 19 years of age and consent from a parent or guardian is required. All activities are chaperoned by volunteers.

Krewe members enjoy the Teen Aurora Grand Ball and crown and new King & Queen each year. They participate in the Motor Parade with 3 floats, tossing lots of beads. 

Krewe membership is limited to 120 members and is non-transferable; however, guest members are welcome at activities. Come join the fun today !
